Self Adhesive Backed Sponge Seals

We manufacture this product from high quality Expanded Neoprene which is a non-marking compressible material suitable for a wide range of every day and industrial applications. Usually stocked in 6 metre coils both with a strong, peel off adhesive backing.

Black in colour, our expanded closed cell sponge is waterproof, and has an operational working temperature between -40°C and +70°, has excellent resistance to air and UV light and a good resistance to acids.

Our adhesive backing which can be easily applied to most clean flat surfaces such as plastic, wood and metal by peeling off the backing paper and sticking in place. The backing is water resistant, but not recommended for environments which have constant immersion to water.

Heavy Duty Combination Hatch Seal

Our heavy duty watertight door and hatch seals are used in heavy duty watertight doors, hatches and skylights with multiple latching points. They are used on large ships and marine going vessels such as cruise ships, oil tankers and naval ships.

This seal is comprised of a solid outer natural rubber on three sides with a cellular expanded natural rubber sponge core bonded to the solid rubber faces. The solid outer rubber strengthens the seal whilst the internal cellular sponge offers great recovery from compression and creates a water tight seal. The two bottom corners are chamfered to enable the seal to securely fit into the channel allowing for welds in the channel itself.

Medium Duty Combination Hatch Seal

Medium Duty Combination Hatch Seals comprised of Expanded Neoprene Sponge, and Solid Neoprene as standard. They are made with a solid rubber face on one side and a sponge rubber core, however it is possible for them to be manufactured from virtually any two rubber materials. The solid rubber surface increases the seals strength from vibration and wear, whilst the sponge core allows the section to compress and create a watertight seal.

Our Medium Duty Combination Hatch Seal are good for applications where the seal will be subjected to large amounts of vibration or fairly strong closing forces such as around engine hatches or heavy machinery. They offer a robust and long lasting sealing solution compared to sections manufactured solely from sponge rubber materials.

Our friendly team can offer suitable materials that allow for any environmental, chemical or temperature demands of your project. The materials are ‘Laminated’ using our high strength ‘Bridgebond Contact Adhesive’ and then precisely cut to any width using our industrial ‘Strip Cutting’ machines.
